- Electric Furnace: Cheaper than their gas counterparts, electric furnaces have a higher cost to operate, but are quieter and have an average lifespan of 20-30 years.
- Gas Furnace: Gas Furnaces are usually fueled by Propane or Natural Gas. They tend to be cheaper to operate, but have a larger upfront cost, need to be maintained more regularly, and tend to have a shorter lifespan than an electric furnace.
- Boiler: Boiler systems are a bit more expensive to maintain and install than either gas or electric forced-air furnaces, but they’re a reliable source of heat and can last for 30 years or more.
Baseboard heating is ideal for older homes that don’t have existing ductwork. It’s silent, it’s ductless, you can heat an entire home, and you have a choice of electric or hydronic units.
Radiant heating systems supply heat directly to the floor or to panels in the wall or ceiling of a house through radiant heat transfer.
If you need to install a heating system in an expansion, or would like an alternative to adding ductwork to a room that may not have it already, a ductless, wall-mounted heating system may be the answer.
Air conditioning tends to dry out the air in your home. Whole-house humidifiers use water vapor to balance the moisture in the air to help prevent development of bacteria, infections, and micro-organisms.
